An accomplished educator with more than a decade of experience supporting students with learning differences, Alyssa combines deep expertise with a vibrant, compassionate personality that makes her both highly effective and deeply beloved by her students. With a Master’s degree in Special and General Education from NYU and seven years of experience at the Stephen Gaynor School, Alyssa is trained in the most effective, evidence-based pedagogies, including certification in Orton-Gillingham and extensive training in The Writing Revolution. Drawing from this rich toolkit, she helps learners unlock the words on a page, master the elements of strong writing, and develop executive functioning and self-advocacy skills. Her tailored strategies not only strengthen academic abilities but also build the confidence students need to thrive.

Alyssa’s passion for teaching began early. Her mother, an early childhood educator, inspired her love of creativity, storytelling, and language. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Ithaca College, where she became fascinated by language and communication disorders, and how the right support can transform a child’s ability to express themselves. That fascination naturally led to her career in special education, where she continues to find deep fulfillment in helping every child find their voice, tools, and ability to advocate.

In addition to her work in education, Alyssa is the founder of Live From Snack Time, a viral social media brand that showcases the curious, brilliant, and hilarious thoughts of kids from around the world. What began as a passion project has grown into a multimedia platform, with content featured on social media, home decor, calendars, and a coffee table book, blending her love for children’s voices with a sharp eye for storytelling and humor.
