Erin Buzby

Erin pairs mathematical expertise with a creative spark and a gift for making complex ideas approachable while connecting meaningfully with students. Stanford-trained, with an M.A. in Mathematics Education, Erin has spent nearly two decades in education as a teacher, mentor, consultant, and tutor. Her work has included serving as Mathematics Department Chair at Spence, consulting with independent schools in New York City, and teaching in both coeducational and all-girls schools.

Throughout her career, Erin has demonstrated a distinctive ability to bring mathematics to life, helping students see how it illuminates the choices and patterns that shape their lives. Whether guiding a department or tutoring one-on-one, Erin combines a sense of humor, enthusiasm, precision, curricular mastery, and creativity to cultivate students’ curiosity and transform it into lasting mathematical confidence and achievement.
