An accomplished educator with extensive experience supporting students with learning differences, Sarah brings both specialized expertise and genuine passion to her work with young learners. She holds a dual Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special and General Education from Bank Street College of Education and earned the prestigious Banning-Ford Award for Excellence in Education from Wheaton College. Currently serving as a learning specialist at The Ramaz School for the past four years, following her six transformative years at the Stephen Gaynor School, she has developed a comprehensive understanding of how to support neurodiverse learners across different educational environments and learning profiles.

What distinguishes Sarah as an educator is her remarkable ability to combine specialized training with creative, dynamic instruction. Her certification in Orton-Gillingham has equipped her to help even the most struggling readers break through barriers and discover the joy of reading through movement-based, interest-driven sessions that engage students’ bodies and minds simultaneously. This multisensory approach not only makes learning more effective but also more enjoyable and memorable for students who may have previously experienced frustration with academics.

Sarah’s expertise extends beyond reading to writing instruction, where her training in The Writing Revolution allows her to demystify the often overwhelming writing process. She excels at breaking down complex writing tasks into clear, manageable steps, helping students develop both technical skills and authentic voice. Her approach builds confidence in young writers by making the incremental components of effective writing visible and achievable, transforming potential challenges into opportunities for growth.

Parents consistently note Sarah’s exceptional ability to strike the perfect balance between support and challenge. Her warm, nurturing presence makes students feel safe to take academic risks and express their learning needs, while her grounded, firm expectations inspire them to reach beyond their perceived limitations. Whether working with students who require specialized learning difference support or those who simply benefit from her engaging, multisensory approach, Sarah creates learning experiences that build both academic skills and lifelong confidence. Her comprehensive understanding of different learning profiles, combined with her arsenal of evidence-based techniques and genuine care for each student’s growth, makes her an invaluable resource for families seeking exceptional educational support.
