At Columbia, Patrick studied Spanish, French, German, and classical voice, in addition to majoring in history. Since graduating Magna Cum Laude, he has worked as a tutor in Manhattan, specializing in languages and standardized tests while also working with students on high school coursework in subjects ranging from the humanities to various levels of math.

An actor earlier in his career, Patrick brings to his work with students the flexibility, listening skill, and creative approach to overcoming stumbling blocks that he has developed over long experience in that realm.

Today, he continues to write for theater and film, as well as literary journals; most recently, his work has been published in The Virginia Quarterly Review and The Paris Review. It’s his belief that students should ideally come out of each session not only smarter, better prepared, and more confident, but also more energized than before and excited about taking on their work at hand. To this end, he loves to where possible incorporate humor and fun alongside a detailed and rigorous approach to the work. Happy students work better and achieve higher—it’s that simple.
