A New York City native, Davey attended the Town School and Dalton before studying Symbolic Systems at Williams College. His professional background is as dynamic as it is impressive: he has coded for Apple’s Screen Time team and founded Plexus, a venture-backed public benefit corporation that used cutting-edge AI to connect people through shared experiences. At Plexus, he raised $1.2 million in funding, led software development, and even wrote a patent application.

Today, Davey brings this same innovation and creativity to his tutoring. He specializes in working with students who feel stuck, bored, or resistant to learning—helping them reframe their approach to subjects like writing, reading, math, and physics. With a deep understanding of the transformative potential of one-on-one support, Davey takes time to attune to each student’s mindset, skillfully helping them turn frustration or apathy into curiosity, confidence, and growth.

Whether inspiring a reluctant writer to see assignments as a form of self-expression or breaking down abstract math problems into manageable, engaging challenges, Davey’s methods are both rigorous and fun. His coaching experience in middle school basketball at Dalton further underscores his ability to connect with young people, motivating them to set and achieve their goals.

Davey believes that effective tutoring goes beyond improving skills—it’s about sparking genuine inspiration and building lasting confidence. His students leave sessions not only better equipped to tackle their work but also energized, encouraged, and eager to keep learning.
