High School
Our approach towards French, Spanish, and Latin is based in understanding the underlying issues for the very different problems students may face: grammar issues often signify problems with methodology, just as vocab issues can point to retention challenges, just as speaking issues may result from perfectionist tendencies.
Sometimes a student’s challenges aren’t even theirs at all but a problem with the way the class is being taught. That’s why we don’t just aim to teach the rules a student needs to know and could get from a book; we aim to understand their underlying challenges, target these, and coach a larger process of practice that’s tailored to their interests.
